Health and Safety Policy
Last updated: 1 October 2026
1. Our position
Vyce is committed to the health, safety and welfare of our employees, visitors and anyone affected by our activities. We comply with the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999.
Vyce is a software company. Our people work in an office and remotely. Our risk profile reflects that: display screen equipment, workstation set-up, fire safety, first aid, and the wellbeing of people working remotely.
The Chief Executive is responsible for this policy.
2. Responsibilities
The Chief Executive has overall responsibility for compliance, for communicating this policy, and for allocating resources to it.
Managers are responsible for implementing this policy in their areas, ensuring safe working arrangements, and acting on concerns raised.
Everyone must take reasonable care of their own health and safety and that of others, follow safe working practices, report hazards, and report unsafe conditions.
3. How we manage it
- We identify hazards and put control measures in place
- We carry out risk assessments using the HSE five-step framework, and review them annually or when something changes
- Everyone receives health and safety induction
- We review performance annually
4. Workstations and display screen equipment
Workstations comply with the Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992. We carry out workstation assessments for employees, including those working from home, and provide equipment where an assessment identifies a need.
5. Remote and home working
We assess the risks of home working, including workstation set-up, electrical safety and wellbeing. Employees working from home should complete a workstation self-assessment and raise anything that needs attention.
6. Fire safety and first aid
We maintain fire risk assessments in line with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, and provide first aid in line with the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981. All employees are briefed on evacuation procedures and first aid arrangements.
7. Wellbeing
We recognise that mental health is part of health and safety. We encourage people to raise concerns about workload, stress or wellbeing with their manager, and we treat those concerns seriously.
8. Reporting incidents
Report all accidents, hazards and near misses to your line manager immediately. Reportable injuries and dangerous occurrences are reported under RIDDOR 2013. We investigate incidents and act on what we find.
